Course Overview:
Rifle Fundamentals introduces students to safe and effective operation of modern sporting rifles. The course covers platform familiarity, safe handling, basic zeroing, position shooting (standing, kneeling, prone), and controlled fire fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on understanding how the rifle behaves differently than a pistol — especially in recoil dynamics, sight picture, and target engagement distances.
Classroom instruction demystifies topics like ballistics, optics selection, and range safety rules. On the range, students perform drills that build precision and consistency, learn basic malfunction resolution, and practice transitions between positions. This course prepares participants for further rifle-oriented training or responsible rifle ownership.
Equipment (Required)
Rifle (w/ Sling, Sights, Magazines)
Magazine Pouches
Minimum of 300 rounds
Only standard FMJ type Ammunition
Armor Piercing, Tracer, or any other form of “specialty Ammunition” will not be allowed.
